Sept. 09 eNews - Alpha Gamma celebrates Sister's Day
Tuesday, September 22, 2009

The Alpha Gamma Chapter at FIU hosted their annual Summer Sisterhood Retreat from Friday, July 31st, and ending on Sunday, August 2nd to celebrate Sister's Day. The women rented a suite big enough to accommodate over 30 sisters in Naples, FL, where they celebrated by having a great time together going to the beach and pool, playing board games and watching movies.

The highlight of the weekend was the Reaffirmation Ritual on Saturday night. This has always been the best part of Alpha Gamma's retreat because doing this ritual in the Summer is the perfect opportunity for the chapter to reaffirm their dedication to DPhiE and everything DPhiE stands for. Plus, the sisters say it's a great way to get re-energized for a brand new school year!

The Alpha Gamma Chapter sisters also participated in a "backwards candle pass," in which they all made a circle and the sister holding the candle did not speak but rather every sister in the circle spoke, one a time, saying one positive word that they felt described that sister.

It was an absolutely incredible weekend, one that the chapter will never forget, and one that sisters in the chapter, both past and present, regard as being their best memory in DPhiE.
