Leadership Development Programming

Forward-thinking programming and innovative leadership training are hallmarks of the Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority. Our programming prepares sisters for the challenges of leadership, and encourages the development of strong skills for life.

International Biennial Convention

Held biennially to conduct sorority business, Convention highlights the values and traditions upon which our organization is based. During the four day event, special workshops are held on topics of timely interest to our sisters, such as how to manage chapter finances, improving leadership skills, and how to run a values-based recruitment. There is always time allocated to sisterhood events where women from all Delta Phi Epsilon chapters have the opportunity to share their chapter experiences - further strengthening the international bond of sisterhood. At the culmination of the meeting, we hold our awards banquet, where we recognize individual undergraduate sisters and chapters who have excelled in expectations of sisterhood, as well as honoring our outstanding alumnae, volunteers and noted collegians. Each chapter sends a minimum of two delegates to Convention. Chapter and Colony Advisors, as well as other volunteers and alumnae, also attend.

True Colors Program
Based on the Meyers-Briggs test, this educational program is highly interactive and designed to acquaint participants with the personality assessment known as, True Colors. It is through knowing our 'True Colors' and utilizing each individual's dominant traits, that we are able to set the standard for excellence within our collegiate chapters. Delta Phi Epsilon endorses this program as it supports our motto, 'Esse Quam Videri: To Be Rather than To Seem To Be.' The True Colors program is facilitated during the International Biennial Convention, District Leadership Conferences, and chapter visits from the International Headquarters staff and volunteers.

Foundations Program

The Foundations Program focuses on strengthening the foundation of our chapters to ensure their future success. It is an interactive series of experiential learning activities spanned over a three day period, highlighting issues faced as a leader and a sister in our sorority. The Foundations Program is based on Delta Phi Epsilon's Standards of Excellence and will help motivate a chapter to strive to achieve its highest potential.

Sisters Targeting Academic Resources (S.T.A.R.) Program
The STAR program provides New Members with an opportunity to share ideas and insights on how to get the most from your college experience. The STAR program focuses on issues that are relevant and important to New Members - like time management and study skills. The New Member Educator facilitates discussions and provides insight while new members talk about campus based academic resources. Initiated sisters with top academic performance also facilitate and mentor New Members through this program on how to succeed academically at the campus. This program provides another outlet to strengthen the bond of sisterhood.

Team Excellence
Team Excellence is the governing structure of Delta Phi Epsilon collegiate chapters and invites all members to take part in the operations of the sorority, thus increasing individual member involvement and commitment. Such an opportunity increases chapter participation, while enhancing the leadership and management skills of each and every member. Through Team Excellence, chapters have a Leadership Team, instead of an Executive Board. This team consists of a President, VP of Operations, VP of Programming, VP of Recruitment, VP of Membership Development, VP of Academic Affairs, VP of House Management (for housed chapters), and a Member at Large. Each VP, as well as the Member at Large, maintains sub-teams of coordinators that organize various chapter events, such as philanthropic programming, recruitment, sisterhood and social events, etc.

P.E.A.R.L. Program

The Delta Phi Epsilon PEARL (Personal Enrichment Activities for Responsible Living) Program presents opportunities for both new and initiated members to contribute to their personal development, the sorority and surrounding communities. The opportunities members choose will vary dependent upon their level of experience and changing needs. All members will participate in PEARL experiences in the five core areas of the sorority:

  • Self - physical, emotional and personal development
  • Scholarship - academic, career and lifestyle skills and planning
  • Sisterhood - organizational knowledge and understanding
  • Social - communication, citizenship, and leadership development
