Dedication, Pride Excellence...
Continuing the Tradition
Kate Cole Anderson, International
Director of Recruitment
Delta Phi Epsilon embraces our heritage through our legacy policy. A legacy is defined as a (step)sister, (step)daughter or (step)granddaughter of an initiated sister of Delta Phi Epsilon . The primary purpose of the legacy documentation form is to provide a vehicle for alumnae to inform the International Headquarters and the local chapter that a legacy will be participating in recruitment.
Below are answers to frequently asked questions regarding Delta Phi Epsilon's Legacy Policy:
Why is it necessary to complete a Legacy Documentation Form?
Completion of the legacy form ensures that the local chapter is aware of the legacy and allows them to watch for her during recruitment. Legacies are important to Delta Phi Epsilon. They bring an established connection and an understanding of the history of dedication, pride, and excellence to our sorority.
When should I send the form?
You should complete the form prior to the semester the legacy will be participating in recruitment. For fall recruitment, the form must be received by August 1. For spring recruitment, the form must be received by December 1.
Additionally, if a legacy is in danger of being dropped, the
International Vice President of Membership Recruitment shall
assess the situation and provide a final decision in the best
interest of both the legacy and the chapter.

What if I miss the deadline?
If you miss the deadline, please contact the International Director of Recruitment who will do her best to contact the local chapter. We cannot guarantee special consideration for legacy information received after the deadline.
What considerations are extended to a legacy?
The international organization encourages local chapters to
afford the legacy every opportunity to receive an invitation
to membership in our sisterhood. According to our International
Constitution, "whenever possible, a Delta Phi Epsilon legacy
should be invited to the first invitational party. If a legacy
attends Delta Phi Epsilon's preferential party, her name must
appear on the first bid list." Additionally, if a legacy is
in danger of being released, the International Director of
Recruitment shall assess the situation and provide a final
decision in the best interest of both the legacy and the chapter.
Where may I direct further questions regarding this procedure?
